Channels Only

Here’s another related hymn to my previous post. I think it has a really nice melody. Enjoy.

Lyrics: Mary E. Maxwell
Music: Ada Rose Gibbs

How I praise Thee, precious Savior,
That Thy love laid hold of me;
Thou hast saved and cleansed and filled me,
That I might Thy channel be.

Channels only, blessed Master,
But with all Thy wondrous grace,
Flowing through us, Thou canst use us
Every hour in every place.

Just a channel, full of blessing,
To the thirsty hearts around;
To tell out Thy full salvation,
All Thy loving message sound.

Emptied that Thou shouldest fill me,
A clean vessel in Thine hand;
With no strength but as Thou givest
Graciously with each command.

Witnessing Thy grace to save me,
Setting free from self and sin;
Thou hast bought me to possess me,
In Thy fulness, Lord, come in.

O Lord, fill now with Thy Spirit
Hearts that full surrender know;
That the streams of living water
From our inner man may flow.

One Response to “Channels Only”

    I was very happy to see Channels Only as your latest posting. I searched your site for it just a few days ago. You must be keeping track of what folks are looking for! If so, I’m glad.

    Channels Only is an old favorite of mine, and I agree about the tune. I used to sit in a rocking chair with my then newborn daughter when my wife was tired and sing it and other oldies like Now I Belong to Jesus to her.
